Rio Tinto, one of the world's leading mining and exploration companies, relocated its London office and consolidated three others to the burgeoning district of Paddington.
Bennett Interior Design was appointed to establish a brief and design concepts for an interior that would demonstrate a self confident, revitalised and outward looking organisation that is technologically advanced, responsive and responsible.
Arranged over eight floors, the reception area on the ground floor provides a series of story telling experiences, designed to immediately engage the viewer in the brand and culture of Rio Tinto. The main office floors offer flexible working environments that provide a wide range of space types that support the organisations diverse range of activities. A 200 seat staff restaurant leads out to a landscaped terrace with views to the surrounding areas.
Sustainable measures include a rainwater harvesting system, on floor and central recycling and an automated energy efficient lighting system.
