2008 PRESS RELEASE
British business earns its Stripes
12 June 2008
British businesses are once again leading the way and establishing a new trend towards distinctive and more individualistic office space. Quadrant’s Design Director, Eve Waldron, says: “In the UK organisations really understand the power of branding and corporate ID. When businesses are telling the world they’re innovative, creative or cutting edge they want their office space to reflect this too. As a result we’re introducing new designs which have personality as well as subtlety”.
And therein lies the contradiction. The latest addition to Quadrant’s design-led portfolio of modular carpets, STRIPE, is both distinctive yet discreet. “Designers are looking for carpets which exude a quiet confidence but still don’t overwhelm the space. Its quite a conundrum. We believe that STRIPE strikes that balance,” says Eve Waldron.
The carpet’s contemporary design and complex texture is the result of the development of a highly intricate creeling sequence combined with innovative 12th gauge scroll patterning techniques. This process results in a crisp, plush and very textural product with and unparalleled tuft density of 250,000 tufts per square metre, ensuring outstanding performance.
During the development process, the team at Quadrant have focused on reducing the impact this product has on the environment. STRIPE features our full programme of environmental enhancements, including a recycled yarn content in excess of 25%, a 75% recycled primary backing and our innovative low-weight precoat, LiteLock.
